What experiences can we offer you?

  

 

As a Caterpillar Graduate, you will begin your development in a 3-4-month Marketing Training Class in Singapore due to commence in April 2020.  

 

The Marketing Training Class is an interactive learning opportunity providing an overview of Caterpillar products, business acumen and professional development. 

  

Following the training class, you will take part in rotational assignments tailored to an industry or distribution service career path. Rotational assignments will be focused on developing industry and product application knowledge, marketing strategies and a strong understanding of the Caterpillar Dealer network. 

  

This is an entry-level position designed to build the employees skill sets within a specific industry and to help prepare them for future commercial roles.

  

Possible placements for rotational assignments include but are not limited to:

    

  • Sales/Market Development (Industry/Parts Sales Path) – Analyse sales opportunities, review pricing practices, assist with new product information releases, and develop competitive analysis for the assigned industry. You will also be involved with the development of marketing strategies for assigned rotational workgroup/industry.
  • Process Development and Implementation (Dealer Operations Path) – You will assist/lead projects related to global dealer operational excellence.
  • Service Tech Support (Industry Service Path) – You will develop a strong understanding of product application and proper maintenance practices and be able to articulate product issues as well as proposed solutions.  

         

You will rotate through any of the above areas during your developmental phase and have the opportunity to work with and alongside experienced commercial teams

 

  

These roles may require some travel, giving you the opportunity to work alongside an international team covering many different countries and cultures, providing excellent learning and experience opportunities. 

 

  

The expectation of this position is that you will gain the maximum possible exposure to the different commercial functions in a structured rotation over a two year period with the expectation that you will progress in to a professional role within one of these functional areas.

 

  

You will be given the support and coaching required to develop your technical capability and business understanding in a multi-billion dollar, widely recognized, global company.

    

 

Within a short period of time you will become embedded team members, vital to the success of the department within which they operate, and accountable for delivering key commercial responsibilities.

Qualifications


 Skills/Experience/Key competencies required:


  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Electrical) or master’s degree in business / Marketing
  • Technical/marketing functional experience

  • Technical aptitude or knowledge is preferred

  • Willingness to travel and live in Singapore for 3 -4 months

  • Interest in heavy machinery, engineering or agriculture would be beneficial.

  • Confident to communicate across all verticals of an organisation both verbally and in writing

  • Highly innovative and self-motivated

  • Ability to challenge both yourself and the organization on delivery of the best value solutions to our customers

  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a global team as well as on own initiative.

  • Strong planning, organizing and problem-solving skills

  • Willing to travel at least 50% or more of the time and embrace different cultures

  • Fluency in a second language (or willingness to learn) would be highly desired

  • Basic engineering, pricing or product marketing experience will also be desirable but not essential
