The Service Technologies Team within ITDD is looking for a Technical Leader to oversee the development of the Cat Electronic Technician and Remote Troubleshoot Applications.  In this role, you will be responsible for mentoring a team of 7 software engineers to develop the current and next generation service tools for the enterprise. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the team’s software development process adherence and provide continuous improvement
  • Address product issues as they arise
  • Assign feature development / product improvement activities
  • Coach team members
  • Work with section manager on team strategy
  • Be a champion for the team at meetings with peers and stakeholders
  • Play an integral part in the planning and execution of the team’s release process
  • Oversee and engage in continuous improvements to the team’s products


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering  
  • 5+ years of programming experience in Object Oriented Programming - C++
  • 2+ years of experience with architectural design patterns (Client-Server, MVC, Event-driven, Broker)

  • Caterpillar Product Line knowledge
  • Ability to quickly understand technology changes
  • Embedded software experience
  • J1939 Data Link experience
  • Team leadership experience
  • Cat ET knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft COM or related technology, knowledge of MFC Library
  • Experience with following tools: Visual Studio, Wireshark, Eclipse
  • 2+ years of experience in Web Architecture (PHP, JSON, CSS, HTML5, REST)
  • Demonstrated strong skill in analysis, communication, organizational and time management
