Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Supply Chain Performance Manager at Caterpillar, you will have an opportunity to lead efforts with material suppliers and facility Supply Chain personnel to increase supplier capability. You will lead work with Caterpillar supply chain functional areas to deliver tools, processes and expertise to Caterpillar suppliers to enable them to replenish material to Caterpillar, pull trigger systems and develop the supplier plan for every part. You will be accountable for building supplier partnerships in the deployment of lean, high quality, high velocity supply chain practices
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Incumbent is accountable for supply chain performance improvements including availability, inventory and network cost structure. This position provides leadership and direction to supply chain teams responsible MRP parameter optimization, PFEP governance, Network optimization, Transportation, Inventory and Sourcing analytics. FSN (Fast, Slow and Non-moving) product strategy. Liaison with Engineering, Procurement and supply chain teams for source change and localization opportunities.
Direct Reports include Supply Chain Planning Analyst, Network design modeler, Transportation and Inventory Analyst. Incumbent manages resources, providing focus, motivation and encouragement to direct reports. This position is responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring. Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including development, capability building and succession planning.
In addition to technical skills, supply chain performance manager needs to demonstrate fully skilled levels of leadership competencies.
Although the requirements above describe most of the responsibilities, due to the breadth of issues that arise on projects, it is sometimes expected that a Supply chain performance manager take on other responsibilities outside of this job description.
• Post graduate in supply chain, logistics, or industrial engineering or equivalent with Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in supply chain.
• Experience in inventory management and control, purchasing, parts distribution and/or supply chain/logistics.
• Strong Analytics and Visualization tools Skills (R, SQL, Python, Excel, Access, & Tableau)
• Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
• Experience in supply chain optimization modelling tools
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the year
• APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification highly desired- both
