Simulation Engineer, you will perform conventional to moderately complex
engineering assignments. You will build a working knowledge of Caterpillar and
the products, technologies, processes, services, and systems related to your
specific job assignments. The Simulation function within Product
Development develops and uses computational modeling capabilities to gain
insight into the performance of a design of components, systems, technologies,
products, or related processes.

Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
The individual who fills in this job will support Caterpillar product
development and improvements by performing simulations and virtual validations.
The responsibilities include developing simple to complex fe models, performing
structural simulations and analysis; evaluating new product designs; initiating
ideas; identifying root causes to failures; communicating results to product
teams and internal teams; providing reliable conclusions, actionable and effective
recommendations and solutions; collaborating with other engineers for their
- Master’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering or related domains.
- 8+ years of experience in
structural analysis (FEA / CAE).
- Proficient in using commercially available
analysis tools like NX-CAE (Simcenter), Ansys, etc.
- More preference will be given to core users of
- Knowledge of the design, simulation and
validation of heavy / construction machinery components and systems,
including heavy / light fabrications, Welds and standards are preferred.
- Sound technical knowledge on Theory of
Elasticity, Finite Element Analysis, Solid mechanics are preferred.
- Prior experience in static & nonlinear
static simulations, Welded structures / Fatigue, correlation with tests
will be an added advantage.
- Strong in taking initiatives, communication
skills, customer focus, teamwork, planning skills and able to manage

enhancing technical skills for future divisional need.
