Job Description


As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will perform staff level finance functions to support various financial activities depending on location and business unit.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Provide technical expertise and guidance to peers as well as recommendations to supervisor on financial issues. Apply finance knowledge to activities and will participate in and/or lead multifunctional teams.  Lead projects to conclusion by compiling information, analyzing data, recommending and implementing solutions and will provide information and analysis used to make and/or influence business decisions.

  • Primary role: Prepare and deliver the Enterprise Cash Forecast, monthly
  • Primary role:  Coordinate forecasting activities globally between Regional Treasury Centers
  • Primary role:  Consult with Business Units and Legal Entities to improve accuracy of forecast submissions.
  • Backup role:  cash positioning administration
  • Backup role:  cash balance, payment activities, investment reporting and analysis
  • General:  Developing technical proficiency in Treasury systems including but not limited to Treasury Cash Workstation, bank portals, cash forecasting and general ledger systems
  • General:  Participate in or lead strategic process improvement initiatives in Cash Management or Corporate Finance Services including cash management reviews


Incumbent will interface with Caterpillar employees from many disciplines, customers and suppliers throughout the world. The Senior Finance Analyst demonstrates very good communication skills and has a comprehensive knowledge of their business unit, suppliers and customers. Moderate travel required (5%-15% of working time).


Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in finance, business administration, or accounting

  • 2 to 4 years of finance-related experience

  • Demonstrate initiative, leadership, judgment, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work effectively and independently with people at all levels within and outside the department

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to a variety of work environments and circumstances

  • Strong personal computer knowledge
