Caterpillar Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) designs and manufactures diesel and gas engines ranging from 400 kilowatts to 16 megawatts of power, and the key engine systems such as fuel, air, aftertreatment and cooling which are used to power oil & gas, electric power, marine, rail and Cat machine applications around the world.
LPSD currently has an opening for a Facility Manager at our foundry in Hodges, SC facility.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to bring our world-class products to life by overseeing all aspects of the casting process including pouring, quality and velocity. This incumbent in this position is responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction for all offerings at the Hodges facility through a team of managers, experts, and skilled manufacturing workforce.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
This position is responsible for managing factory operations that may involving any or all of the following manufacturing, assembly, machining, maintenance, fabrications/welding, heat treat, packaging, painting, testing, tooling, scheduling, manufacturing engineering, quality, packaging, warehousing, shipping and receiving . Provides direction to supervisors of these areas in a manner to ensure efficient operations. Manages in accordance with established objectives for efficiency, cost, safety, quality, quantity, timeliness and human resources objectives.
This position is the Face of the Facility, the single point of contact representing the Caterpillar business to local and state authorities, (safety, environmental, zoning, expansion plans and execution). They are responsible for community engagement, promoting the business and involvement in local businesses and charities. They will work with the state & local agencies for training and employment needs. They are responsible for the business resumption plan. The incumbent will have cross-functional leadership within the facility and be the final voice in the facility for the decision making process.
Bachelor's degree preferably in Metallurgical Engineering and/or Materials Science or 15+ years of Foundry experience
10+ years of supervisory experience
5+ years in iron foundry operations
5+ year of experience in supply chain, purchasing and/or procurement
Top Candidates will also have:
Experience in launching new facilities or major capital expenditures
Needs good management, motivational and problem solving skills along with good human relations and communications skills
5+ years of experience supporting engineering NPI or sourcing strategies
