As an Inventory Management Services Manager at Caterpillar, you will manage a staff that researches, develops and implements industry-leading records management and inventory management concepts for Logistics Division internal and external clients. You will also manage a team that is helping us design and install Records Management SPM functionality, you will lead the inbound (pre-receipt) processing team and lead the DART product group designing and supporting DART applications for Records Accuracy Management (RAM).


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Research and/or identify new, industry-leading inventory and records management processes
  • Provide expert consulting on inventory and records management concepts
  • Develop and execute inventory and records management training for Logistics Division staff
  • Work with Logistics Division Information Services in definition, design, development, installation, and use of records management systems including DART product
  • Develop inventory and records management visions and strategies for Logistics Division
  • Keep abreast of inventory and records management developments in the industry by benchmarking other companies, maintaining liaisons with academic experts in the field and participating in related professional organizations
  • Expert in IM systems, records management processes, and technology
  • Lead a group of professionals that are expected to maintain and expand Cat Logistics lead in Inventory and Records Management technology through continued research and application of Caterpillar IM technology
  • Manage a work unit of primarily management/professional employees where monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required as well as training, developing and mentoring
  • Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in a technical or business curriculum
  • Previous supervisory leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of at least one of the following: record accuracy management, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of company products and good analytical skills
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience 

 

 


Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Advanced degree
  • 6 Sigma BB, CPS or LEAN experience
  • Systems or IT work experience
  • CSCMP (APICS) Certification
  • Previous Record Accuracy or DART leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Previous project management experience
  • EDI and/or SP20 experience
