Logistics Information Services seeks one talented, highly motivated IT professional to fill a critical role as the Business Systems Excellence IT Manager for the Caterpillar Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD).  This role serves as a strategic partner to our Caterpillar Aftermarket Parts Distribution Division.   Bring your passion for technology and your business acumen to inspire teams to deliver technical solutions for business growth.

As the Business Systems Excellence IT Manager, you will lead a global team of approximately 150+ IT professionals, comprised of IT Managers, IT Architects, Business Analysts and Software Developers based in US (Morton-IL), India (Bangalore) and Europe (Belgium).  You will be the IT Product Owner of the Aftermarket Parts IT Portfolio, which includes various applications, including our global SAP Service Parts Management (SPM) solution and warehouse automation systems.  As the IT Product Owner and strategic partner to the business, you will develop and drive the IT strategic roadmap.  You will partner with senior business leaders in Parts Distribution globally to identify opportunities to promote leading industry practices, business transformation, and streamline and drive business process improvements.  You will stay current on the latest technologies and advise the executive team on how best to leverage technology to deliver maximum value to the business.

 

Primary job duties include, include, but are not limited to:

 
  • Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to determine business priorities, roadmap development, and manage delivery expectations.  Build proactive, responsive relationships with the business to ensure alignment of business objectives with technology solutions.
  • Work with business partners to understand current and future business needs and capture business requirements for enabling technology solutions.
  • Oversee the Aftermarket Parts System IT Portfolio, including the SAP-SPM solution and warehouse automation systems.
  • Work with solution architects to support project recommendations covering scope, resources, approach, solution options, risk/assumptions and oversight of blueprint, design and implementation of quality solutions.
  • Develop a high performing IT team with the necessary capabilities to ensure quality solutions in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Provide thought leadership on IT strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in IT service levels and reduce the rate of daily incidents.
  • Ensure the existing IT landscape meets defined benchmarks (Quality, Velocity, Cost).
  • Manage IT vendor relationships. (internal & external).
  • Develop and manage an IT budget of approximately $20+M.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent international degree) from an accredited university
  • 13+ years of progressively complex IT experience
  • 5 years’ experience with SAP systems.
  • Strong client / customer focus and ability to lead development and implementation of multi-year IT roadmap, including effectively managing staff, budgets, and initiatives.
  • Business process expertise in one or more of the following: supply chain management, parts warehousing and distribution, dealer processes applications.
  • Familiarity with IT operations and processes including but not limited to application development / support, infrastructure implementations, IT consolidations, and support.
  • Proven ability to motivate diverse teams and effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries with strong global and enterprise mindset.
  • Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to travel
 


Top candidates will also have the following skills, experience, and traits:

  • Proven ability as a leader of leaders, managing a diverse global team and ability to deliver significant business unit results with a focus on culture.
  • Expertise in SAP, especially Service Parts Management functions (EWM, CRM, ECC modules, for example).
  • Strong business acumen in warehousing and distribution.
  • Proven ability to work with and influence senior managers from diverse functions.
  • Strategic thinker with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Previous experience as a Portfolio / Program / Project manager (or 6 Sigma Black Belt).
  • Familiarity with Organizational Change Management and ability to apply the concepts.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to further develop business knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills that foster creative solutions.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
