Cat Digital’s Analytics team is looking for a talented and motivated Sr. Data Scientist to develop and deliver analytics models to support product development for the enterprise as well as condition monitoring for customers.  As a data scientist, you will use machine learning and other analysis techniques to integrate time-series machine sensor data and physics-based simulation models to improve design validation and on-board condition monitoring for machines operating in every corner of the globe.

Typical problems include but are not limited to: creating reduced order or surrogate models of physics-based simulations to enable design exploration and uncertainty quantification; fusion of telematics data and simulation models to develop digital twins; statistical modeling for calibration and validation; sensitivity analysis and optimization.


Basic Qualifications
  • MS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Aerospace)
  • 2 years of significant project experience with Python
  • 2 years of experience applying machine learning including deep learning methods

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • PhD degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Aerospace)
  • Experience in physics-based simulation or validation of off-road machinery
  • Experience with uncertainty quantification, statistical modeling, and optimization
  • Understanding of complex electro-mechanical systems (engines, drivetrain, hydraulics, controls, structures, etc.)
  • Experience using machine sensor telematics data to solve product problems
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-initiative
  • Works well in team environment
