Job Description


As a Human Resource (HR) Representative at Caterpillar, you will assist in the administration of various human resource services and functions within a facility, division or Shared Services. Your current skills and knowledge will be an asset in this role as you interact with management, salaried and hourly employees to answer HR questions and resolve issues while complying with company and legal policies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


* Leading new employee orientation and related training

* Providing HR policy guidance and interpretation

* Coordinating with Regional and Corporate Human Resources

* Interacting with and counseling all levels of management, salaried and hourly employees to assist and resolve a wide variety of personnel, wage/salary and benefit-related issues

* Interfacing with Corporate Human Resources, Compensation + Benefit and Payroll personnel to assist in the administration and support of employee issues and problems within HR areas

* Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching career development, reward and recognition and disciplinary actions)

* Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention

* Perform duties associated with Governmental regulations and internal investigations

* Perform duties associated with the administration of payroll, salary administration, time and attendance

* PeopleSoft related activities and learning initiatives

* Perform other duties as needed



Basic Qualifications:


* Bachelor’s degree required

* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of human resources job-related experience

* Must have extensive experience with employee relations

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

* Excellent verbal, written, conflict resolution and collaboration skills

* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

* Must have strong time management skills, sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities

* Strong attention to detail

* Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills

* The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential

* Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and individuals
