We invest in research and development, Lean manufacturing and are positioned to achieve profitable growth by capitalizing on megatrends in our industry. The Griffin, Georgia facility manufactures C27, C32 and 3400 series diesel and gas engines serving the following industries: electric power, oil & gas, marine applications and Cat machines around the world.

Caterpillar Electric Power Division currently has an opening for an Operations Team Member IV - Receiving/Inventory position supporting the Griffin, GA facility. As an Operations Team Member at Caterpillar Inc. you will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, counts, verifying materials and shipments, accessing computers to update information, as well as point-to-point movement of materials in support of assembly operations.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:     
Work closely with production team to ensure they have the right parts, at the right time in the correct location
Run a variety of reports in SAP to track material needs, kit available material, and identify material not allocated to an order
Complete cycle counts of inventory to ensure accuracy in all material transactions
Receive and ship materials, process material movements using SAP software.
Visually inspect all incoming material and equipment, verifying all items are received and are in good condition.
Ensure shipping weights and dimensions are accurate on all records
Use proper safety precautions when delivering material and operating equipment
Equipment used includes various types of forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, brommel, battery chargers, computer, scales, shrink wrap, wrap, etc.
Responsible for training for other Material Handlers
Completion of all OSHA and company required training.
Communicate effectively with a wide range of contacts within and outside the company.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
6 to 12 months experience in manufacturing environment
Previous SAP Software Experience
Previous Inventory Control Experience
Previous shipping, receiving or warehouse experience
Experience with Assembly Tools

Physical Requirements:
Individual must have the ability to work in a fast pace, heavy assembly, technical environment.
Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, climbing, standing for 10 hours per day, or overtime as needed, and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Good Communication skills (verbal and written)

Additional information:
Starting Hourly Rate: $20.25
