As the HR leader for the facility, you’ll help create a culture that enables people to produce their best work every day. You’ll be responsible for leading a team that is responsible for recruiting and developing the best talent, creating an engaging environment, developing and enforcing people policies, managing internal communications, providing strategic people guidance to the business, and more! You’ll be part of a global HR team, and will interact with people from many different backgrounds and cultures.


As the Caterpillar Wamego Human Resources Manager, you will:

*Be responsible for HR strategy and execution for the Wamego, KS Caterpillar Work Tools facility.

*Provide guidance to the Facility Manager, facility leaders and all employees on HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency.

*Actively participate as a functional resource on the facility leadership team, ensuring human resources is an integral part of the business strategy.

*Provide guidance on interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as applicable laws, governmental regulations, and internal investigations.

*Provide directives considering impact upon the company, employee engagement, and consideration for the future (new practices, policies, and procedures).

*Assist leaders in addressing individual and organizational effectiveness issues. 

*Manage local public affairs, government affairs, community relations and charitable donations.


This role manages a team that is responsible for:

*Workforce planning
*Retention, recruiting, and talent pipeline planning 
*Development and training
*Enhancing the employee experience and creating an engaging culture
*Internal communications and events
*Community relations and government affairs
*Ensuring a safe work environment
*Overseeing medical / occupational health
*Production employee compensation strategy


Basic Qualifications:

*Bachelor Degree (preferably in an HR-related function)

*Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible job-related experience in human resources

*Experience in HR related functions such as benefits, compensation, employment, labor relations, communications, and education/training

*Excellent interpersonal skills in order to deal with sensitive issues and to persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions

*Ability to maintain confidentiality

*Previous experience in a manufacturing or operations environment

*Strong written and verbal and communication skills 

*Excellent interpersonal skills 

*Demonstrated leadership capability

*Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Taleo, Workday, Kronos, Office 365
