JOB SUMMARY:  Grow the business, improve efficiencies and delight customers through digital channels.  Create strategies, develop new solutions and deploy functionality, reporting and adjustments for all global FPD interactions for customers and dealers.  Manage a team of digital sales & eBusiness specialists to executive upon the strategy, each with a focus on driving results for their respective portion of the customer or dealer journey.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serves as the Business Owner for the following systems/technology:  Search, Social Media, Web (catfinancial.com, catfinancialequipment.com), leads, mobile applications (Cat Sales App, Cat Financial Quote App), DocuSign, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Online Account Management, Marketing and Service Automation (Pardot, Eloqua).

  2. Develops and executes the digital sales and eBusiness vision and strategy for Cat Financial continually reviewing the need for changes to the vision.

  3. Reviews best in class companies and competitors to adjust Cat Financial’s digital sales and eBusiness strategy.

  4. Monitors trends in digital sales & eBusiness tools and applications; experiments with new and alternative ways to leverage technology for the organization.

  5. Participates in the Global Leader Council to ensure that strategies align with business needs and goals.

  6. Supervises activities, performance results, and skill development of a skilled team of eBusiness Specialists to ensure goals are achieved and continued personal growth of personnel.

  7. Manages and collaborates with Caterpillar (corporate), business units and dealers on all sales lead generation, marketing automation initiatives and other technology based sales and marketing initiatives.

  8. Collaborates with multiple departments to ensure proper integration of digital sales & eBusiness elements within the overall marketing strategy.

  9. Monitors trends in eBusiness tools and applications; experiments with new and alternative ways to leverage eBusiness for the organization.

  10. Works with internal and external teams to define requirements, draft proposals and develop creative concepts and new technology.

  11. Trains and guides employees engaged in digital sales and eBusiness activities.

  12. Works with IS developers, business analysts and support teams to address technical implementation issues. 

  13. Works closely with Marketing Communicators and Caterpillar’s Marketing & Digital team to develop new/optimized content and align strategies.

  14. Provides reporting on all major channels with clearly stated goals and action items for local team members. 

  15. Utilizes reporting to calculate the project ROI for digital sales & eBusiness technologies.

  16. Ensures the proper use of the corporate logo, both internally and externally, as a Brand Advocate for Cat Financial.

  17. Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department.  Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data.  Participates in the identification of problem areas and the development of resolutions to address them.

  12. Demonstrated knowledge of and advanced ability in using Hypertext Markup Language.

  13. Working knowledge of production processes and agency billing practices.

  14. Advanced knowledge of accepted branding and advertising industry standards.

  15. Demonstrated ability to work independently.

  16. Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment with subject-matter experts and creative resources.

  17. Advanced ability in writing/journalism.

  18. Advanced ability to combine technical skills with creative thinking to develop innovative methods of marketing Cat Financial products.

  19. Advanced ability in project management.

  20. Advanced ability in applying general guidelines to specific projects.

  21. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability in technical systems, including the networking requirements of systems to support websites.

  22. Advanced ability to evaluate and edit written and graphic communications.

  24. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply math computation skills, including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

  28. Ability to drive a car or arrange for adequate transportation to and from CFSC business units, vendors’ offices, etc.

  29. Ability to use a computer up to 90% of the day.

  30. Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time on a worldwide basis.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  A 4-year college or university degree in any of the business disciplines and a minimum of 10 years exempt experience in one or more of the following areas: technology strategist, product management (technology focused), development of Internet and mobile sites, social media strategist or web manager is recommended.  Demonstrated superior eBusiness skills including development of vision, strategy and execution of a web presence are recommended.  Demonstrated experience in eBusiness strategy execution including, but not limited to, creating and customizing profiles, blogging, online interaction, coordinating content to post, responding to comments and tracking effectiveness is recommended.  Prior supervisory experience is preferred.  Previous work experience must be progressively increasing in responsibility and accountability and demonstrate an ability to gain knowledge, skills, and responsibility such that a level of full competency can be reached.  Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
