Perform evaluations on all types of construction and mining equipment in a safe manner with minimal supervisor. This evaluation work requires advanced operating skills and advanced equipment evaluation capabilities.

Performs engineering evaluations of various models of construction and mining equipment or other product lines, utilizing advanced operating skills and safe work practices. Performs operational evaluations of major equipment systems including but not limited to engine, transmission, final drive, hydraulics, electrical, etc. Read service manuals and work orders for directions and safe operating practices.
Evaluates performance characteristics, serviceability, and safety aspects of all equipment.
Works with minimal supervision to perform all jobs.
Work with other operators, engineers, technologists, instrumentation technicians, mechanics, and logisticians in a collaborative team environment to complete complex tasks safely, with the highest quality, while meeting project schedules
Performs basic mechanical work.
Communicates through verbal and written reports with technical staff, visitors, customers, and other employees.
Uses operational diagnostics and limited instrumentation to determine the root cause of problems.
Plans and performs equipment demonstrations for engineering, visitors, or customers.
Provides basic operator skills training for staff and visitors.
Works effectively in a team environment. Shifts easily into the role of either team member or team leader.
Provide input to supervisor and team for continuous improvement (CI) and capital projects to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost. Aid supervisor in the implementation of other employee’s CI ideas.
Write and provide input to health and safety documents such as safe job procedures and preliminary hazard assessments. Assist supervisor to investigate safety incidences. Participate in safety projects.
5+ years experience with advanced construction and mining equipment operating skills, knowledge of field applications, ability to diagnose application problems, and the potential to deal successfully with new concepts and analytical requirements.
3+ years experience working in a team environment.
