The Product Support & Logistics Division currently has an opening for an Aftermarket Parts Protection Specialist in our Morton, IL facility.
JOB PURPOSE: Improving Aftermarket Parts Protection processes aligned with Product Groups, Component Groups, and GASD. Deliver on PSLD Transformation related enterprise goals by effectively using 6 Sigma Methodologies, Continuous Improvement Processes & Change Management Processes. This position will facilitate improvements to processes that ensures that our aftermarket sales are protected and drive sales back in-channel to improve OPACC and Enterprise Benefits.
As an Aftermarket Protection Specialist, this position will take on responsibilities of project leadership of cross-functional teams with complex scope associated with:
- Data analytics to identify and measure protection opportunities to align with part lifecycle and proliferation processes
- Identifying and closing gaps with Branding, aligned with the Business Partner Goals and Processes (NPI, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing & Packaging)
- Enterprise-wide initiatives to identify and implement additional protection processes that align with Product Group goals and strategies
- Developing metrics that provide the necessary detail for our business partners to drive aftermarket parts protection actions
- Identifying and improving standard work and training for Aftermarket Protection processes
Incumbent must be proficient in Change Management Processes to ensure that any impacted or affected Business Partner understands why the change is necessary, the risks to not changing, and coach their team to accept and embed the change necessary for improvements and Enterprise benefits.
Travel (10% - 25% working time)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
Previous 6Sigma Black Belt and/or project management experience
Proven leadership in leading multi-functional teams
Demonstrated analytical skills identifying root causes based on facts and data
Knowledge of Caterpillar products and services, its internal systems, processes, and procedures; and a general understanding of external customers, competitors and market influencers

Proven planning and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Engineering processes like NPI & CPI
Prime Product and Component knowledge
Previous experience with data analytics and/or visualization
Ability to build strong relationships and work closely with peers and senior level leadership
Attention to detail, initiative and ability to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity
Ability to articulate complex issues to upper management with a strong executive presence
Excellent written and visual communication skills
