Job Description




As a Software Lead,

  • Be the global technical expert and a key contributor in the concept, development and design of complex System & software components or processes for Rail-Wayside Diagnostic application products.
  • Provide Technical guidance to the delivery teams (software development, validation)
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of software across different release schedules.
  • Stay abreast of innovative technology with continuous learning, coach and teach team members and deepen your professional network.


  • Lead design & development of electronics control software and systems for Rail-Wayside Diagnostic application products.
  • Develop product requirements through interactions with System Engineers / Product Group.
  • Collaborate with System engineers & other subsystems teams for the product development needs.
  • Drive the Software development to deliver customer committed deliverable, as well as drive improvements in Software design and architecture
  • Lead functional teams in design of software for new features and processes for the product.
  • Provide technical guidance to team on needs analysis and initiate ideas
  • Communicate results to product groups, team members and other business units.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science curriculum
  • 8 to 11 years of relevant work experience, preferably locomotive domain
  • Atleast 3 years of experience in Locomotive systems and software
  • Atleast 2 years of experience in supporting Diagnostic Applications
  • Good programming skills (Embedded C, C++)
  • Good knowledge on Linux / QNX Operating System
  • Hands on experience in communication protocols like CAN /J1939 / I2C/ SPI / MODBUS / RS232

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or international equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Electronic & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation or Computer Science curriculum
  • Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively
  • Good focus on quality & velocity
  • Good knowledge on Configuration based Software Architecture.
