Location: Brisbane


  • Reporting to the Group Engineering Manager, this position leads one or more teams of technology professionals to architect, develop and validate integrated software systems for mining and construction operations. The incumbent will focus on developing people, delivering value to our clients while meeting quality targets. Software systems may be cloud/mobile or on-premise software for automation or manned operations.

  • This role will collaborate with others across the organization on integration requirements and strategic improvement areas. Accordingly, a proactive and expectant leader with experience in enterprise architecture, systems engineering or program management would be well suited to this role.


  • Primary responsibilities are people management and development, alignment of product architecture and feature development to corporate and client strategy, and software engineering process execution and improvement.

  • Recruit team members, assign, direct and evaluate work, oversee career development, encourage continuous learning and a high-performance culture.

  • Emphasise on time delivery of high quality solutions to meet client expectations efficiently and with minimal client effort.

  • Continuously communicate with stakeholders and process partners, ensure agile software development is aligned to commercial milestones.

  • Promote innovation. Identify and mediate risks. Engage across the enterprise to positively impact program execution and technical strategy.

  • Maintain technical proficiency in modern software product development for example cloud, data science, data warehousing, technical architecture, enterprise application integration, mobile applications, security, DevOps.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor level STEM degree from an accredited college or university

  • 5+ years hands on software engineering (encompassing full product development lifecycle)

  • 5+ years in supervisory/team lead role

  • Program and change management

 Top Candidates will also have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with success in working with geographically distributed teams/programs

  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies

  • Knowledge of Earth Moving technology and solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver using Agile Project Management and DevOps tools

  • Process automation

  • Strong client focus and experience formulating technical strategy

  • Proven ability to lead via influence, and engage all levels of an organization

Travel Requirements – upto 5% domestic and international
