The Product Support & Logistics Division currently has an opening for an Account Manager in our Peoria, IL facility. This is a direct sales position with responsibility for selling Caterpillar Precision Seals to external customers. As an individual contributor, this role has strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration across the organization to grow sales and solve problems. This position will work to strategically grow sales volume with large customers and develop new customer opportunities. New customer growth includes identification and development of new customers, pricing, quotes, and contracts. The responsibility will be primarily North America with some new customer development in South America and other regions as required. Required travel is approximately 50%.
Job duties/ responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Participates on behalf of and commits Caterpillar in direct sales negotiations.
Understanding competition, pricing position, and value selling to grow metal face seal business.
Maintain coverage of key customers and achievement of annual business plan
Understand, document and communicate customer requirements, business models, competitive landscape and other market intelligence to ensure awareness of customer needs
Partner with engineering and the production team to ensure that we are serving our customers expectations.
Work to identify market growth opportunities, new markets, and strategic partnerships to grow the business revenue and OPACC.
Develop strategic plans to achieve long-term revenue and OPACC goals in the region.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of industry experience
4+ years of Sales Experience (Cat Dealer or Direct Customer)
Knowledge of Metal Face Seals business
Demonstrated experience in construction industries or aftermarket product support
Broad business background, specific long-term product or industry knowledge
Engineering and application understanding
Strong presentation and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills are required to work with and develop new customers.
Strong prioritization capability and customer focus
Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to operate autonomously, self-starter, and team player
Proficiency in Spanish language desired
