The Product Support & Logistics Division currently has an opening for a Sr. Parts & Service Marketing Consultant in Peoria, IL. As a Sr Parts & Service Marketing Consultant you will be responsible to develop and actively manage specific categories of Yellowmark, an alternate replacement parts brand within Caterpillar positioned to win POPS with price sensitive customers in the Construction Industries. Success metrics will include achievement of annual revenue targets, POPS-C contribution, inventory performance and achievement of target margins to deliver OPACC objectives.  


The Marketing Consultant will coordinate with business partners and stakeholders across various parts marketing and component product development organizations to identify growth opportunities and develop complementary product positioning and commercial strategies to address them. The Marketing Consultant will develop and maintain New Product Introduction plans for assigned categories to ensure the product line represents complete solutions that will drive POPS growth with target customers.  


Job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Data and commercial analysis to identify growth opportunities and develop parts positioning strategies 
  • Project management and facilitation across different business units to introduce parts for the alternate replacement parts product portfolio 
  • Ongoing product line management including annual business planning, results tracking, demand planning, inventory management, and the addition or cancellation of categories or part numbers covered by the program
  • Development and presentation of parts opportunity business cases 
  • Considerable interaction in a multi-functional team environment utilizing informal influence and direction to accomplish team objectives through others



Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of in parts marketing, customer/dealer interaction, product support and/or commercial product or parts experience

Top Candidates Will Also Have: 

  • Experience with engine and/or structural and appearance parts
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills  
  • Must be able to deal with sensitive issues, mentor and coach, and/or persuade others on product positioning strategies 
  • Broad business background and parts product support/marketing knowledge 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong financial/business acumen 
  • Demonstrated success in project management role
