As a Human Resources (HR) Policy & Compliance Consultant you will contribute to the administration and development of various human resources policies and procedures at Caterpillar and be actively involved in supporting strategic initiatives across HR. This position will work with HR professionals throughout the organization to uphold the company’s values, mitigate risk and ensure compliance to company policy and regulatory requirements. This position supports all divisions enterprise wide with a specific focus on internal complaints and risk mitigation. In addition, you will be responsible for management of certain enterprise wide HR projects and support limited global HR representative.

Note: This position can be based at any Caterpillar facility in the United States or remotely anywhere in the United States.



*Team lead for Policy & Compliance internal complaints - primary resource for guidance, advice and consultation with lead HR, business unit HR and center of expertise (COE) HR. Utilize and analyze metrics to determine effectiveness and propose changes and design for strategy and direction for complaint resolution training and program. Liaison with Legal, Enterprise Security, HR and across business units.

*Review and resolve employee complaints across business units for COE HR determining results and providing disciplinary action recommendations as appropriate.

*Actively participate as a functional resource on behalf of the HR Policy & Compliance team ensuring human resources is an integral part of the business strategy.

*Provide direction to leadership and business unit HR teams in application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and internal investigations to enhance consistency and maintain and improve the work environment of the facility and enterprise.

*Responsible for the strategic development and maintenance of policies such as prohibited harassment and nepotism.


Basic Qualifications:
*College or university degree with 3+ years of practical human resource assignments or equivalent experience of five years of practical human resource assignments 

*Strong human relations and communications skills, organization planning and personal computer proficiency

*Experience with conflict resolution, internal complaints or conducting investigations

*Knowledge of and practical experience with HR policies  

*Experience training and presenting 

*Strong customer focus

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
*Awareness and expertise in many areas of human resources   

*Experience in labor relations, benefits, compensation, personnel and training with a working knowledge of operations

*Experience working in a matrix organization

*Demonstrated non-traditional resolution methods/thoughts to conflict resolution
