This position is in Application Components Design and Testing team in EC&S. This Senior Engineer-Design role supports the design and development of FEAD components, support brackets, adapters and bonnets for Large Diesel and Gas engines. This role will also interface with simulation teams to provide a highly collaborative end-to-product development through design, simulation and test teams.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop FEAD systems, support brackets, adapters and bonnets
  • Lead key improvement initiatives in application component product design team pertaining to cost reduction, On-time shipment and PPM
  • Build strong supplier relationships to proactively avoid NOPS (Nothing in NOPS) and excess inventory
  • Perform light-analysis in conjunction with design to develop robust design concepts
  • Closely collaborate with simulation and test teams to develop a failsafe product
  • Communicate results to global customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum, preferably in a Mechanical Engineering focus
  • Relevant job-related experience:
    • Bachelor Degree: 5 years
    • Master/Doctorate Degree: 3 years
