At the Caterpillar facility in Wamego, Kansas, we take pride

As a manufacturing trainee on second shift, you’ll receive competitive pay starting at $15.29 per hour plus an additional shift premium of $0.95. Over time, based on performance, attendance and business need, there is opportunity to promote to advanced manufacturing positions with pay up to $33.23 per hour.
You’ll have the opportunity for pay increases based on skills and performance, as well as an annual opportunity for a merit increase, and a quarterly bonus.

As a Caterpillar
welding trainee in Wamego, Kansas, you will:
Learn all aspects of manufacturing while working on a high velocity weld, robot, and machine manufacturing line.
Hand weld in multiple positions to create parts by using semi-automatic MIG welders and .052 solid wire.
Use robotic welding technology to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
Operate machining centers (cuts, drills and bores steel) and hydraulic presses (bends and forms parts).
Read and use blueprints to weld individual parts together to create a finished product.
Learn advanced welding techniques, all while ensuring safety, quality and standard work are followed.
Use jib and overhead cranes to manually position parts and product.
Work in a clean, well-ventilated, safe environment equipped with the latest technologies.
Work Monday through Thursday from 3:30pm to 2:00am, with overtime as required or available.
Commit to being on-time and reliable..
