This position is supporting the strategy manager in leading, executing and governing the Excavation Strategy Development and Execution. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Strategy Manager/directors/key leaders to develop medium to long –term corporate strategies in support of enterprise business goals. This includes supporting the development and execution of the overall EXD strategy. Day to day activities include responsibility for assisting with Multi Generation Project Plan(MGPP) Documents, Leadership staff meetings, product group deep dives for Large, Medium, Small and Wheeled Excavators.
Provides support to Excavation leadership team with the activities of Business Risk Management(BRM), 6 Sigma coordination, OIA MGPP, Chairman awards.
The incumbent should have strong data analytics skills Analytical software like Power BI, Tableau, SPSS.
The incumbent will also be responsible for Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) coordination with the global team.
The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. The position's primary customers are internal. The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems. The incumbent generally resolves issues by following departmental guidelines or applying a solution that worked in the past. The team or supervisor gives general instructions on what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and how it is typically done. The jobholder knows in advance the details of what needs to be done to serve customers and the standard procedures in place to accomplish it. They can change different parts of the standard approach to serve customers best, but cannot add or delete procedures without approval. The team or supervisor reviews work as it is being done and after it is completed.
** Moderate travel required (5% - 15% of working time).
The position requires knowledge of various Caterpillar products especially a good background of excavation and competitors, product applications or NPI Methodology. Have excellent analytical skills.
Personal computer skills and familiarity with various software packages may be required. The position typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. Jobholder is in contact with supervisor and peers in work group. They receive and pass on information courteously and efficiently.
* 2 years of related technical or apprenticeship education, or equivalent on-the-job training
* 3 to 5 years of job-related work experience, undergraduate degree from a college or university or equivalent experience.
