 Job Title: Hybrid/Electrification Systems Engineer
Salary Range: £40,000-£60,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location:  Peterborough
Benefits:  25 days annual leave,    
           10-18%  bonus (Depending on Experience) 
           Annual Car Allowance - £6960 (Depending on Experience)
           Contributory pension scheme- Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution Up to 10%
           Contributory share scheme- Caterpillar will matched 50% of the employee's contribution
           CAT Advantage
           Relocation: Maybe supported with this role

Within Caterpillar, Advanced Components and Technology (AC&T)  is responsible for electronic and electrical systems development across all Caterpillar engine and machine platforms. Based in Peterborough, the European Division of AC&T works with all of Caterpillar’s European facilities to develop and apply advanced technology to the control of our highly integrated engines and machines. With unrivalled levels of vertical integration within the industry, AC&T’s systems help to maximise the customer value and efficiency of Caterpillar’s end products, whilst minimising owning and operating costs.


Within the Division, an exciting opportunity has arisen to become a key member of the project team developing integrated modular hybrid powertrain systems.


The successful applicant will be a high performing engineer with strong knowledge and demonstrable experience in hybrid and electrification powertrain technologies including:

Electric motors/machines

Electric vehicles

Power electronics

LV and HV systems

Battery and Battery Management Systems
Key  Responsibilities:

•Solicit and capture system and customer requirements

•Translating requirements to technical and business objectives

•Identifying and developing optimal systems architecture, components and interfaces to meet project objectives

•Plan, develop and execute validation activities to mitigate program risk and ensure the system is verified and validated for production.

•Application and Installation (A&I) support to internal and external customers



Skills and Experience:

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
  • Very Strong technical background (good technical degree preferred in mechanical/electrical engineering disciplines) though other qualifications / experience will be considered.
  • Previous demonstrable experience of electrification and hybrid technologies
  • Proven Engineer with a background in system integration, testing and validation of electric powertrain system and components
  • Very good teaming and communication skills
  • Good initiative, self-starter
  • Ability to build strong working relations
  • Ability to initiate and take independent action
