Responsibilities:

Wake Tech students considered for Computer Technologies positions should have a basic understanding of software programming, which may include experience using HTML5, CSS3, Python, C-Code, & JavaScript.  All positions require working in a team environment and demonstrating quality client service. Responsibilities vary from job to job, and may include: developing and testing a single page web application using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.  You will also be expected to write, test, and debug embedded C/C++ on the target device.  Familiarity of binary operations and parsing raw data groups are required.


Considerations include education or experience in the Computer Technologies field. In addition, successful performance requires sound judgment, motivation, effective interaction with others and the ability to handle an array of responsibilities.


These positions are open to community college students, who are also eligible to participate in Wake Tech’s Work Base Learning Program.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Must have and maintain a 2.8 / 4.0 cumulative GPA and be eligible for the Work Based Learning program.
  • Must be a fulltime community college student within driving distance to the Clayton, NC facility.
  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week while attending school full time.
 
Desired Qualifications:
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Experience with UX Design software such as Axure, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, Web UI toolkits, or other interaction prototyping tools. 
  • Experience building internet applications using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Familiarity with code versioning systems such as GIT.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and analytical skills
  • Experience with unit & functional testing
  • Familiarity in the application of data links such as CAN/J1939
  • Familiarity with Microprocessor controllers
  • Basic understanding of electronic hardware and/or working in a lab environment
 

These are part time temporary openings located in the Clayton, NC area. Relocation is not available.
