The Global Power Solutions Division has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Development Consultant in Houston, Texas.  As a Business Development Manager at Caterpillar, you will be accountable for sales growth  of Caterpillar Oil and Gas Cat Connect Services in the United States

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


*  Provide sales leadership to business unit in covering industries, markets, new products, applications, and support of the Caterpillar dealer network in  distribution needs to support new business development sales growth in adjacent markets to Caterpillar current business. This will include identification, evaluation, business case development, and sales support efforts. Results and recommendations for business development are reported to senior management. Will travel frequently to support regional sales efforts.


*  Participate in long-term forecasting and assist in developing and maintaining multi-year plans and objectives


*  Lead management in planning major programs, products, and objectives for business unit investment for new sales growth


*  Serve as a companywide resource on a highly specialized area or serve multiple units in a broader functional area and assist senior management in interpreting and using information provided


*  Challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems. Resolve issues by following departmental guidelines or applying a solution that worked in the past


*  Travel frequently (50% or more) to understand regional or worldwide business conditions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

*  Degree in Marketing or Engineering or equivalent work experience

 

*  5+ years job related direct iOT technology sales experience in the Oil and Gas market with or without a degree


*  Experience working within the digital sector of oil and gas industry 


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

 

*  Experience with selling services related to equipment management solutions space


*  Ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders

 

*  Broad knowledge and support experience in working with direct customers


*  Good human relations skills to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department

*  Strong leadership skills

 

*  Excellent customer qualifying, communication, closing,  and time management skills

 

*  Trade show experience

 

*  Strong finance and business acumen

 

*  Dealer or distribution network experience
