Description

The purpose of this position is to support the Staff Service Engineers and corporate CPI process (Continuous Product Improvement) by participating on CPI cross-functional problem solving teams. Work as a team member representing Product Support to identify and resolve product problems in order to maintain product health and meet quality objectives. Identify opportunities for corrective action and initiate CPI projects.  Primary interface: Internal: Engineering, Procurement, Production. External: NACD/EAME; secondary interface with LACD, CIS, SCM.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


  • Participate on CPI project teams as a green belt supporting the Product Support functions
  • Research and submit CPI issues based on data analysis, Paving District Rep input and DSN entries
  • Communicate with dealer service personnel in order to obtain failede parts and information
  • Perform analysis and prepare data to present project meetings and reviews
  • Assist with validation of solutions
  • Prepare data for the release of technical information to dealers (Service Letters, Service Magazines, TIB's)
  • Technical support resource for DSN Tier II process

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


  • 4+ years experience with heavy equipment
  • 2+ years customer relations experience

 

Top candidates will also have:


  • 2+ years of Caterpillar experience
  • Familiar with NPI processes
  • Experience with technical writing and reviewing of service publications
  • Strong technical aptitude of problem resolutions and machine inspections
  • Has Completed Six Sigma Yellow Belt  training with strong understanding of methodology tools
  • Understanding of Continuous Product Improvement process
  • Proficient in warranty and cost management systems (SCAS, MSCRM, DSN) and quality reporting systems 
  • Good understanding of dealer services capabilities, repair practices, and labor guidelines
  • English communication and technical skills, credibility, persuasiveness and high stress tolerance
  • Familiar with company policies and procedures
  • * Ability to build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders, and work with people from different backgrounds and cultures 

 

Additional Information:


This position requires up to 25% travel.
