Caterpillar has exciting opportunities for accountants who want to be challenged, are mobile and are interested in progressing through a number of staff and supervisory assignments.
 

In this role, you will support a Caterpillar engine manufacturing division headquartered in Seguin, Texas (San Antonio  area).  Your job will be to: (1) enable financial and operational integrity through internal control development and  assessment (e.g., SOX) and (2) provide business process development, improvement, and ongoing support for  Caterpillar’s Enterprise Ethics & Compliance Program.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Determining financial, fraud & antibribery (FAB) and other compliance risk area impacts for supported business groups

  • Developing internal processes, controls and tools to support compliance risk mitigation

  • Providing consultation advice to implement effective compliance plans for existing or new business processes

  • Adapting and implementing Caterpillar Policies & Practices within supported business groups

  • Planning and executing SOX/FAB testing/assessment, documenting issue remediation and performing validation

  • Executing other compliance risk area self assessment protocols for key risk areas

  • Coordinating Corporate internal audit compliance, financial & operational audit remediation plans and certification processes

  • Developing and delivering compliance training to local business leaders and employees

  • Providing ongoing status reporting to business leadership

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's level degree in Accounting; Non-Accounting degree requires 18 hours of core accounting courses or approved certification (CPA/CMA)
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably within compliance or internal controls experience

 Top Candidates will also have:

  • Professional Certification (Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent)
  • Experience with one or more SOX and/or FAB testing cycles

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

  • Working knowledge of Financial Systems, SAP GRC Process Control and/or Archer GRC

  • Proven record of strong initiative, analytical skills, leadership, accountability, and effective communication skills

  • Ability to interpret and document business processes in industrial manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work independently and handle competing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Adaptability to work with various functional areas and management levels
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
