In this capacity you will be responsible for assisting the operations supervisor in coordinating workflow, promoting cooperative team relationships, establishing daily priorities and performing various manufacturing functions.


JOB DUTIES: Lead 10-15 team members (hourly production employees) in a common work team to attain quality, safety and production targets by establishing and managing the priorities of the work team. The desired goal is to assist in establishing well-managed processes that support a foundation to build long-term continuity by performing the following:   

  • Completes all team training and coaching.  Also, provide input regarding annual performance evaluations for team members.
  • Attend daily production meeting and ensure the team’s daily work is completed on-time and efficiently, ensuring safety and quality (improving processes). 
  • Perform production activities such as operating machines and equipment along with team member subordinates, leading by example, and pitching in to help out the team in whatever capacity is needed. 
  • The position may provide on-the-job training and guidance for newer employees in the group.  
  • The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems.
  • The incumbent generally resolves issues by following departmental guidelines or applying a solution that worked in the past.  Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality, Part Quality, Internal Quality Certification, etc.
  • The position monitors adherence to quality standards and develops action plans for addressing below standard performance.
  • Can operate a fork lift.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Understand the difference between components as well as heat codes.
  • Ability to follow routers and production schedules.
  • Ability to have employees maintain a clean and organized work place. 
  • Ability to train and ensure employees use proper protection, stacking and packaging.
  • Ability to properly fill out production reports, track attendance, use and wear proper safety equipment.
  • Has the responsibility of handling disciplinary actions of employees when necessary up to and including written notices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Work involves light physical work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to moderate levels of noise.
  • There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday


Basic Requirements:

  • Familiarity with an office environment and general clerical experience.  Some experience with personal computers would be helpful.

  • Completion of a 1-year vocational program after high school or an equivalent on-the-job training program.

  • In addition, three to five years of job-related experience are typically required. 

  • Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department. 

  • Must be able to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl talk and hear. 

  • Be able to occasionally be required to walk claim or balance and smell. 

  • Must be able to regularly lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Must have specific vision abilities required by this job which include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • 2 years prior experience with oil field equipment such as valves, laterals, tee’s and crossovers.

  • Prefer two-year business degree.

  • Strong computer skills with a basic understanding on inventory database management software.

  • Prior forklift operation experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience
