This role is accountable for the driving a common strategy and vision working with suppliers to drive efficient packaging for the service parts network. This position will lead a team of packaging professionals to drive packaging solutions working closely with the packaging materials and specification teams within the organization.



  • This position will be responsible for developing returnable and expendable packaging for strategic, innovative, complex, and network wide projects and processes.
  • Lead or support team to solve packaging relative complex technical problems, work with cross-functional team to develop process and tools, as well as mentor, coach and share packaging design and process to global and regional team members.
  • Develop global packaging processes for driving packaging improvements across the network
  • Report and upload data/information to enterprise packaging system.
  • This position will also need to communicate to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units as they support global team to develop packaging documentation.

Typical internal customers include a Department or Business/Service Unit in a Division. The position's primary customers are internal. The position often confronts complex issues or problems that require careful analysis and diagnosis. Problems are often unique and solutions can require original approaches. The incumbent will lead the team to modify existing approaches or develop new solutions. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results. This position will impacts key service parts goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality, and Part Quality.


This position help provides guidance to the team of people to help design and develop returnable and expendable packaging for individual piece parts and bulk shipping. Proper packaging design includes part containment, protection, and optimization of transportation and other supply chain function. This role helps work with the team to establish and ensure adherence packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions, cost savings, or other supply network improvements. Communicate with existing facilities on packaging issues related to receiving, warehousing, and/or line side delivery. Ability to make strategic decisions driving new packaging processes and recommend changes when needed.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) from an accredited university
  • 2+ years of previous leadership experience
  • 5 + years supply chain, procurement or operations related experience
  • Previous experience working with suppliers (direct or indirect)

Top candidates will also have:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Packaging or Supply Chain
  • Experience developing and deploying creative / original solutions to complex problems
  • Certifications: APICS, Qualification as a CPS Support Team Leader, CPS Functional Job Role
  • Lean and 6 Sigma, Black Belt
  • Experience with the CPS RIW and Value Stream Transformation process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working and communicating with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
  • Experience implementing packaging solutions with suppliers (direct and/or indirect)

This position does offer relocation.

This position requires 25% or less travel.
