As a Maintenance Technician (electrician, mechanic, multi-skilled technician) you perform the duties associated with the maintenance of facilities and equipment that support the production of Caterpillar Excavators.

 

All employees will be required to:

 

  • Perform entry to mid-level break-fix preventative maintenance. This includes but not limited to: adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments to sustain and improve operations repairing or replacing defective parts reconditioning or repairing machine tools.
  • Identify needed parts, supplies, and repair items.
  • Provide support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
  • Be aware of Maintenance Industry Standards.
  • Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in CI activities - processes, results and cost savings.
  • May be required to setup and operate simple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform basic welding tasks.
  • Update records and review CMMS history.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry.
  • Complete technical self-study programs for career development.
  • Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum eighteen months direct experience performing maintenance related work
  • Experience with lockout / tag out procedures
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools in an industrial setting
  • Experience with basic electrical and mechanical systems
  • Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift hours and be open and flexible to overtime

 

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Experience working in Caterpillar Victoria Facility
  • Associates degree, technical degree, or other specialized certifications
  • Experience working with Mitsubishi Machine Centers
  • Experience with Dakon Chiller systems
  • Experience with robotic systems including maintenance and programming capability
  • Experience with paint line maintenance
