Job Description


Job Purpose:

The primary goal is to support the Product Support & Logistics (PSLD) division’s effort in achieving the inventory and customer service objectives in a manner consistent with PSLD. As an SCPE at Caterpillar, you will support International Production Withdrawal related work for Cat Parts. This function involves working on projects and ad hoc analysis to enhance systems and process efficiency within Cat Parts.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for providing Business and System support to IPW
  • Analyze PW cancellations and decide if material is available to release.

  • Pricing and availability quotes

  • Tracking orders on withdrawals

  • Analyze & adjusting Inventory Floor Protection levels as needed.

  • Develop and/or support SAS programs in supporting Inventory Management metrics.  

  • Execute adhoc requests from business partners and Inventory Management team. 

  • Work closely with global teams in making process improvements and enhancements to IM system / processes.   

  • Must be open to learning the analytical techniques for Data Analysis, Inventory Management (IM) System Configuration/logic and statistically oriented analysis.

  • Specific projects may include but not limited to investigating reasons for service loss, explaining inventory growth, assessing the value of alternative parts strategy for withdrawals, and determining impact on Inventory and service.


Required Qualifications


  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Maths / Statistics

  • Must have excellent analytical/problem solving abilities

  • Good knowledge in Supply Chain and Inventory Management concepts, as well as IT infrastructure technical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong customer focus and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.

  • Will need to work in a different shift, able to support in US/UK timings

  • At least 5 years of job-related experience

  • SAS Programming and use of reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau


Desired Qualifications:

  • SAS programming skills

  • Visualization capabilities

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification
