JOB SUMMARY:  


Provide analysis of related data in each of the respective categories:  exposures, collections, credit losses and troubled accounts.  Report achieved results with significant trends highlighted and analyzed.  Complete assigned projects, which can be long-term or short-term in nature.

                                   

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


1.  Gathers, analyzes, and reports information and trends from various sources over the portfolio health of CFSC.  This analysis will cover various aspects of the organization which include, but are not limited to, exposures, troubled accounts, credit losses, past due, allowance reserves, probabilities of default, loss given default.

2.  Serves as a support function to the Corporate Portfolio Manager to ensure resulting accuracy with respect to reporting for Business Excellence Council (BEC) meetings, Credit Reviews, Cat Inc. audit review and any need requiring active portfolio management intervention and interaction.  Ensures that Operational policies and procedures are adhered to with respect to interpretation of such data. 

3.  Works with line unit personnel to answer any questions on operational procedures and policies.  Analyzes data as supplied by these internal customers and based on the results of this analysis, makes a recommendation to the Corporate Portfolio Manager to approve or deny the proposed adjustments.

4.  Reports Incentive Compensation measures to Human Resources.  Ensures measures provided are based on a thorough analysis and interpretation of data.  Refers any requests, which are an exception to policies and procedures to the Corporate Portfolio Manager, Operations Manager or higher levels of authority.

5.  Monitors and analyzes trends in key industries, such as forestry, agriculture, marine and mining.  This analysis includes, but is not limited to, reviewing periodicals, journals and websites to gather price fluctuations in materials and commodities used in each industry and determine current and forward pricing.

6.  Completes various projects assignments from time to time that support the four critical elements of active portfolio management, which includes but is not limited to, marshalling assets, analysis and reporting.

7.  Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department.  Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data.  Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.

8.  Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:


1.  Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply math computation skills.

2.  Ability to learn and apply the interacting procedures of all CFSC departments.

3.  Knowledge of CFSC software, as well as intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

4.  Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Tableau and Excel Power Query preferred.

5.  Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to prepare operations reports and related statistical reports.

6.  Thorough knowledge of Caterpillar products, their applications, and their markets.

7.  Thorough knowledge of credit and customer services concepts and techniques and ability to quickly learn and apply CFSC’s credit and customer service policies and procedures.

8.  Thorough knowledge of past due account collection techniques.

9.  Thorough knowledge of account Legal classification.

10. Knowledge of industry finance and leasing products and ability to quickly gain knowledge of CFSC’s financing and leasing products.

11. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities to timely meet report deadlines.

12. Ability to quickly learn and apply CFSC’s financing and leasing documentation policies and procedures.

13. Ability to communicate with diverse cultures and various levels within the company.

14. Ability to use keyboard up to 75% of the time.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 


A 4-year college or university degree in any of the business disciplines and a minimum of 2 years exempt experience in credit, customer services, collections, marketing, accounting and/or financial statement analysis is recommended.  Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
