Job Description


JOB DUTIES:  The individual in this role hones skills as a sales liaison between dealers, customers and other Caterpillar personnel including SEM, GCI and DSD teams. The individual must stay updated on customer/market needs, and apply their industry knowledge to lead dealers to grow sales of SEM machines in the fast-growing Utility segment.  

Challenges include delivering aggressive sales growth amid a fast-paced environment, steering developing dealers to pursue growth, being comfortable with “start-up” type resources / processes




  1. Act as a strong SEM brand ambassador both internally and externally, to build better understanding of brand story, strategy, business model, product value etc
  2. Develop programs that maximize machine sales while maintaining price realization and profit margins
  3. Customer / job-site visits with dealers to maximize dealer participation rates and customer loyalty
  4. Ownership of monthly S&OP forecast process with dealers; ensure balance between having inventory to drive retail sales vs risk of aging inventory; feed demand signal to factory
  5. Report competitive intelligence on pricing, merchandising, marketing etc
  6. Identify rental opportunities in market, and work with dealer on rental fleet roll-ins to capture opportunity
  7. Work closely with dealers and internal partners to launch new products to the market
  8. Deliver product training to dealers, and communicate product value to customers


Territorial coverage: South-east Asian country(ies)

Travel: 50-75%



Education: Mechanical engineering diploma / degree is preferred


  • At least 4 years of experience as an Industry Sales Representative with Caterpillar (or similar experience in a Sales position for external candidates) 
  • Experience with Wheel loaders, Motor graders, Dozers, Soil Compactors is preferred
  • Experience with South-east Asian countries is preferred
  • Experience with Chinese equipment brands is a bonus

Language: Fluent in written and spoken English; spoken Mandarin is preferred
