The Student Trainee Program allows students the opportunity to work at Caterpillar while going to school.

Responsibilities: 

High School students considered for information technology positions should have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office, web site maintenance, computer hardware/software and/or HTML. All positions require working in a team environment and demonstrating quality customer service. Responsibilities vary from job to job, but may include:
•Networking and technical support
•Internet/intranet
•Mainframe and basic programming.


Considerations include education or experience in the information technology field. In addition, successful performance requires sound judgment, motivation, effective interaction with others and the ability to handle an array of responsibilities.

 

These positions are open to Pontiac, IL area High School students only. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• Must be 16 years of age by June 2020 

• Must have and maintain a 2.8 / 4.0 cumulative GPA 

• Must be a full time student attending a Pontiac, IL area High School

• Must have reliable transportation 

• Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week while attending school full time 

  

Desired Qualifications: 

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel 

• Demonstrated leadership 

• Participation in school clubs and organizations   

 

These are part time temporary openings located in the Pontiac, IL facility. Relocation is not available.
